The Ministry of Reconciliation

Read 2 Corinthians 5: 16-21

What is the ministry of reconciliation? It is reconciling others to Christ and the salvation that He offers.

How do we do that? We are always attentive to the situations around us. Why? Because we are to always be ready to give a defense for the reason for the hope that is in you. Are you ready to give that defense? I hope so. We are beginning another
school year. Some of you may already be in school. (To some of you that is awesome, and to some of you that is awful.) We still have the same friends, but we will also make new friends. Where are both sets in regards to Jesus? Do you have any idea? Has your
group ever talked about Jesus? How was it received?

20 Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ,
certain that God is appealing through us. We
plead on Christ’s behalf, “Be reconciled to
God.” 21 He made the One who did not know
sin to be sin for us, so that we might become
the righteousness of God in Him.
2 Corinthians 5: 20-21

If you are thinking that I am talking to the kids, you are misguided. You, parents, will also have the same friends,
but will meet new friends (parents). Are your spiritual antennas on? God can give you awesome opportunities
to talk with other parents in nonpressure situations, we just have to be ready to “go there”.What about members not related to
anyone connected to school? You have friends, co-workers, relations, and acquaintances that are connected to school. This can be a frustrating time for families and individuals. Some have a family member moving to another town to attend college. Some have joined the two school families with one child in junior high and one in elementary school. What are their fears? What are their joys?

The ministry of Reconciliation is an ongoing, ever-present task or opportunity. We are always placed in situations that can give God great glory. Listen to those around you. School is just one opportunity in others lives that can give you opportunity to tell them about the love of Jesus.

In His Service,

Pastor Todd
