Be on Purpose

Matthew 28: 18+19a

Spring is finally here.  Hopefully the warm weather will continue to stay warm.  Hopefully we will be planting gardens and mowing lawns, camping and playing in the sun.  What plans do you have for the spring and the summer?  Do you have a vacation planned?  Are you looking forward to any day trips to somewhere in the state?  As we flex and stretch getting ready to tackle all the summer projects, let’s remember one very important project.  Jesus.

Jesus leaves His disciples with a command, “Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you.”  How does this commandment affect you?  Is it something you think about?

Many in North Dakota chase the sun in the warm months of the year.  They forget about the Son.  Does our relationship with Jesus end when the snow melts?  Jesus commanded us to be about His business all through the year.  We must be on purpose about our relationship with Jesus.

Summer is the time of year we come out of hibernation.  We grill out in the backyard.  We picnic.  We see more people. (they are outside)  We have more interaction with our neighbors.  Have you mentioned your relationship with Jesus?  Have you asked them about where they attend church?  Maybe that is a good place to start.
